Why You Shouldn’t Let Sticky Labels Define Who You Are
As a young girl, I was often called bossy — and not in a flattering way.
It didn’t bother me much. I knew who I was. But it was clear that my confidence, clarity, and presence made people uncomfortable.
Over the years, the labels kept coming:
Demanding. Confrontational. Headstrong. Bossy.
Here's one thing I know for sure:
Labels only have power if you believe them.
Words are like sticky notes — easy to slap on, but just as easy to peel off. You can remove the ones that don’t reflect who you truly are and rewrite the narrative in your own words.
So go ahead and change the narrative:
• I’m not bossy. I’m a Boss.
• I’m not confrontational. I’m courageous.
• I’m not headstrong. I’m resilient and focused.
• I’m not too much. I’m more than enough.
If you’ve been carrying around labels that make you feel small, let’s rewrite them — together.
